my life is on plan j i think now.
i'm going to europe in less than a month.
then i'll be homeless for two weeks after that, just sleeping around on friend's couches.
i still have to find an apartment that will let me sign a contract for like 7 weeks, so that i can retake a math class i got a b- in (i really was proud of this, lowest grade i've made) so that i can have a perfffffect gpa to get into the school i didn't get into, so that i can be in the art program that i've been dreaming of.
then i am coming back to take fall semester off. I'm gonna just work my butt off, get a car, reapply to BYU and work on my portfolio to apply with as well. so, that's kinda exciting.
plan j. here i come.
video of the week:
this is a great little documentary made at byui for the climbing, my friend jason's band. he's a wonderful guy. and i really love what him and steve have done. and their music is rad. check it out.
food of the week:
i call them craisinets.
i love them. i never really liked raisinets. but i love craisins, i put them on salads, eat them with almonds, they're just delicious. and i saw these, oh my gosh. new favorite candy.
book of the week: okay, so i've been too busy/have not yet finished the pact by jodi picoult. holy cow, it's a long big book. so, instead, i've been investing my spare time in my brother and his friend jacob's newsletter and blog.
the only needed opinion.
i like their writing style, and their reviews are great as well. lemme know if you'd like to get the newsletter, or just check out their blog.
car of the week:
alright. to be honest i don't know what kind of car this is. but i want it. it's like a bug, but not, and i just want it. and of course i also want to move to london to look adorable driving it around there. oh well.
artist of the week:
ROBIN CLARE.
she's a great little artist in london, she does alot of patterns cause she grew up in jamaica.
i just love the pop-art-y-ness. and yes, the chairs do look alot like andy warhol's butterflies, or shoes. but i still really like it.
musician(s) of the week:
ben folds.
love him.
and last week i saw him for the fourth, and probably final time.
i saw him three times in highschool, all times with bess brown.
it was a great show. me and my sisters were very very close. and he did alot of great old songs. zac williams opened, and he was a great musician as well, very nice afterwards too.
ben set up a camera and set up chatroulette and then sang to random strangers, (mostly fat creepy old men or near naked gay guys) it was so awesome.
(there will be videos up soon.)
creation of the week:
now, i'm not done with this yet. but seeing as my plans have changed i had to pack up all my art supplies and put all my stuff i was working on away. i'll get back to them later. i just wanted to paint a wood texture because i have this beautiful wood cedar chest in my room and so i painted it. and then i really really love poppies, and the red is just great, so i painted them over the wood. i kind of want to do a group of work that has contrasting textures, and opposing settings, like living and dead. i had a better vision in my head, and i'm not done, so we'll see if it'll get any better than this.
side-note of the week: i want to go camping. so bad.
