the white stuff.

it snowed like mad friday. my dog maggie loves the snow.

they say it's global warming. that that explains all the snow in d.c. but then, in the summer they blame the melting icecaps and sad polar bears on global warming too...what's up with that gore?
nonetheless. snow is fun. the snow that lasts two days is fun.

video of the week:
now, i'm not huge into politics. but sometimes i really care, and other times i'm indifferent. i missed out on this in the fall because i don't keep up with the world really when i'm busy at school. but i can't believe this. really obama, you were friends with acorn?

food of the week:
mellow mushroom is my favorite restaurant, and working there hasn't changed that at all. well, okay, cafe rio and mellow mushroom are tied really. one's the south, ones the west.
mellow really has the best pizzas and everything else wonderful. and i'm not saying this to publicize where i work, it's just delicious. and this week, the pizzas i ate made me re-realize how much i love it.

book of the week:

when i went out west for school i left alot of my worldly things behind. i mean books. now that i'm not reading tons for my english classes i wanted to get new books to read. i've gone through the good parts of my craft books and haven't made it back to the library to return them or get new books. [oh the late fees i always have.] so i went to the rubbermaid container holding all my books in a closet. i skimmed through looking for a good read. i passed by little house on the prairie, the hobbit, and the importance of being earnest. then i found this book. oh middle school, and how i was too interested in emo. emotional hardcore as it were. this was of course, the emo of jimmy eat world, promise ring, rites of spring, and such. i started skimming it and most everything in it is irrelevant now. emo is not what it once was, i saw a girl with e.m.o. nail polished onto her black hot topic messenger bag...and thought, girl. it's not an acronym. you're an idiot. maybe if she read this book in 2004 she'd know.

car of the week:

so it's a geo. and i know, barbie drove a pink geo...but i like the boxy-ness. my roommate aisha has a cute little green geo. and they're stupid cars, but i'd drive a tracker. and if it has racing stripes on it...even better.

artist of the week:

tyson anthony roberts.

i like it alot. like pixel-ed abstract impressionism.
again, another western artist. this guy is from seattle.

musician(s) of the week:

so i like the shins. and james mercer, the lead vocalist and guitarists for the shins joined up with brian burton, a.k.a. danger mouse and created BROKEN BELLS. whatta duo.
the self-titled album will be out march 9th i believe. it's kind of like another shins album, but different, a good different. there you go, gosh i'm mighty descriptive. i've listened to it all already, on grooveshark.com. listen to 'the highroad'.

creation of the week:

i didn't really have time to create something amazing this week. i altered some dresses i found at a secret thrift store on garners ferry. and i bought a bunch of canvases and more acrylic paints. so this week i am going to make something 'creation of the week' worthy. i have wayyy too many magazines and so i like to make cards out of them. for valentines day among others, lily allen and caleb from kings of leon made the cut. not as brilliant as the ga ga valentines. but they work.

i saw this at urban last year, and i wanted it for valentine's day....but oh well. my mom got me victoria secrets underwear because she's so cute, so i'm good. i don't need no chocolates.

side-note: i promised my sisters i would take them to a concert while i was home. last year it was death cab for cutie/cold war kids/ra ra riot. year before that was, ha, relient k/switchfoot.
and this year we were going to see tegan and sara in hotlanta, but it sold out. so....solution is.....ben folds in charlotte. this will be my 4th time seeing ben live. i'm sure it will be as epic as all the other shows.

broken bells are so good! they leaked the album on the internet, so you can torrent it. also, that car is FAH-REAKIN' hideous kendal, i don't care. there is no such thing a good geo. they're an abomination.

Geos suck. But I liked your V-day cards idea.
