so this is the new year.

so this is the new year, and i don't feel any different.
so this is new year and i have no resolutions.

actually, compared to mister gibbard, i lots of resolutions. among them all is blogging.

although i haven't blogged since like september, and i just moved to utah and i'm about to start school at byu, i think i can keep it up.
with advice from a blunt, but dear friend, and some time, i am downsizing again.

although i love many things, i'm going to focus on art, and the artist on my blog.

art of the week:

jacqueline norheim is the artist behind these intriguing paintings...
she's an artist in san francisco.
i love the juxtaposition of nature and architecture in her paintings.

musical artist of the week:
why?
the band.
my dear friend brent told me to listen to these guys last fall. i took his advice....a year later.
i love the lead's voice. and the music just smoothly follows him and his unique words and voice.
start by listening to berkeley by hearseback and this blackest purse from their latest album eskimo snow.

video art of the week:
i saw sufjan stevens for my 21st birthday. before the security guy yelled at me to turn off my camera i got some great footage of the amazing show he put on. i was in love with the stop motion dancing.

my art of the week:
i made these darling owl pillow/stuffed animals for my sister in law Jenn for Christmas. she's having a baby girl in may and the room is owl themed. i made them from all the vintage fabric i've been collecting from thrift stores and vintage shops. i loved making them and want to make some more for myself and friends when i have the time.

side note of the week:
i just moved to provo, utah. i'm starting school at byu as like a second semester junior maybe? with my associates degree from byu-idaho. hopefully i'll be able to apply and get into the art program by next winter and get my bfa in studio arts, and possibly majoring in nutrition. i'm really excited about living here, although not too excited about all the snow. either way, this is the new year, hello 2011 and hello provo, here i am.
